Farmers have known of Tuchuwarnosh, the beast hag, by many names. Satan caused her form to rise from the grave when an Indian woman's burial was inadvertently dug in the midst of a mammoth skeleton. In late spring she will emerge from Kaipyl, her fur plagued by aphids, scale, distructive moths and beetles. Her infestations drive her hard and blindly through the land so they may feed on the crops of the Central Valley.
The rest of the summer Kaipyl remains a busy entrance. Demons enjoy partying with drunk boaters on the delta. With all the traffic coming down the entrances to the underworld closer to the water, demons will often ascend this entrance and pick up a case of chardonnay on the way down to the levies.
